Happy Birthday, Clover!

Today is Clover's 9th birthday. I can hardly believe it! I met her the January before she turned six, when she was in a class I was assistant teaching. That summer was my first as her nanny, and a more privileged position I cannot imagine. I have been incredibly fortunate to spend the last three summers (and any available school holidays in between!) with her and her brother. She is a helpful, sweet, hilarious, accident-prone, adventurous, caring, lovable, smart and a complete goof as well as an occasional drama queen. We have had so much fun together, from exploring the zoo and imagining what the elephants might be saying to playing in the ocean in Hawaii to seeing grizzly bears in Yellowstone to to meeting Mickey Mouse to playing the extraordinarily complex "Fairy Game." (Trust me, that game deserves those capital letters!)

I hope this year is wonderful for her, and I simply cannot wait to see her over spring break!
